‘The Pavilions’ sit delicately atop the award winning environmentally sensitive development site – Nobby Headland. The house camouflages itself through form and materiality amongst Magnetic Island’s ubiquitous granite boulders, hoop pines, and eucalypts. The site has sweeping views across the Coral Sea to Cape Cleveland and the City of Townsville.
This smart home, with touch button technology, features high quality interiors and automation creating a sense of luxury throughout. Internal spaces open onto ancient weathered boulders and swaying treetops, a juxtaposition that stimulates the occupant’s senses as they become attuned with the natural environment through sound, smell, sight, and touch - contrasting to life in urban environments. The house encourages the occupants to move towards the edges of the building, connecting with the landscape.
